UNCTAD is proud to have developed SIGMAT for regional transit data exchange using ASYCUDAWorld under the Trade Facilitation West Africa (TFWA) project. Five ECOWAS IT experts were trained by UNCTAD ASYCUDA and subsequently played a key role in the SIGMAT development phase. SIGMAT is implemented in six ASYCUDAWorld users countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger and Togo).
On 27-29 February 2024, ASYCUDA participated in a regional workshop on transit interconnectivity and the use of regional transit guarantees to discuss the implementation of SIGMAT and the guarantee management for transit in Central Africa. The event enjoyed the participation of CEMAC and its member States, ECOWAS and the World Bank.
The video below is produced by the International Finance Corporation under the World Bank Group and describes SIGMAT’s implementation in ECOWAS.
