Agreement of Understanding will Expand BiH and ASYCUDA Programme Cooperation
An agreement of understanding (AoU) has been signed between UNCTAD and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), affirming cooperation between UNCTAD’s ASYCUDA programme and BiH institutions.
The AoU will allow the parties to continue cooperating on customs modernization and help to enable the enhancement of BiH’s ASYCUDAWorld customs management system. This will involve the customization of ASYCUDAWorld so that it better aligns with European and international standards.
The collaboration will aim to improve the efficiency of customs clearance processes; develop risk management capabilities to better combat fraud; support the use of e-commerce in BiH, including through the introduction of pre-arrival processing of consignments; and leverage the benefits of advanced technologies in the implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).
