The Republic of Moldova’s customs service has today started piloting the ASYCUDA Postal Customs Declaration (ASYPCD) module within their customs management system, ASYCUDAWorld. The module makes it easier for smaller firms to engage in e-commerce by making it more affordable and efficient to export their products without having to call upon the services of distributors, customs brokers and retailers. ASYPCD facilitates the implementation of international interconnectivity standards for the exchange of electronic advance data, ensuring the rapid release and clearance of parcels while managing safety and security risks.
This piloting of ASYPCD is the first component delivered under the project signed between European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) for the “Digitalization of customs services in Moldova – phase 1 – facilitating cross-border e-commerce through the digitization of pre-arrival and pre-departure processing for postal and express consignments”.
