Gambia Revenue Authority Launches New System that will Digitalize Customs Clearance Processes
The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), in collaboration with the ASYCUDA Programme and using financial support from the African Development Bank, have upgraded their customs management system from ASYCUDA++ to the latest version of ASYCUDA’s customs software, ASYCUDAWorld. The upgrade will, among other benefits, allow the GRA to quickly and securely process electronic customs declarations online, easily generate reliable trade statistics, and process customs payments electronically.
Speaking at the launch event, the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Mr. Seedy Keita, said, “The ASYCUDAWorld system will significantly enhance the ease and speed of doing business in the Gambia, which is essential for us to realize our dream of becoming a competitive and favourable destination for foreign direct investment”.
